CMCA CLUB COACHING COURSES
Coaching a Cricket Team/Getting Started in Coaching(2hr 30 minute duration)
All Coaches and Parents of all abilities and levels in junior cricket.
The approach of coaches and parents towards their children’s development in these formative years is crucial, and the information shared at these courses between tutors and other coaches is very important in helping to ensure people have the skills to assist players in the best manner they possibly can.The course contains a small portion of technical information, but will predominantly focus on discussions surrounding the coaches’ approach to the team and individuals in it and showing some good training drills and games that the coaches might want to use.It has been very successful over the last few years, and it is vital that clubs make every effort to get as many people along to these as possible.
This course is also offered to all Primary Schools, and will be booked at the Schools request.
Senior Clubs/Players(2 hour duration)
Players in Senior Teams (in any grade)
The aim is to give players involved in senior teams (in any grade) some new ideas for training drills/games and how to run team practices. There will be a portion of the time dedicated to discussing any issues that people want to talk about.
Level One(12 hours duration)
People who have completed the Getting Started in Coaching Course and/or played cricket to a decent level, have a good understanding of the game and/or are coaching a team of a good standard (Year 6 and up).
The course contains information on: Technical skills, coaching approaches and philosophies, injury prevention and umpiring. There is a written component and a Coaching assessment.
