Resource Consent was granted on July 15 2022.

The Trustees now progress to the next stage and the priorities have been confirmed as:

• Four court set for netball and tennis with the exising set of 3 courts available for public use.
• Construction of the indoor cricket training building in conjunction with Karaka Cricket Club and Counties Manukau Cricket Assn.
• Installation of permanent mounds and fencing for the Baseball area.

In 2007 the Franklin District Council purchased 13 hectares of land adjacent to the existing sports complex with the intention of developing a large scale leisure, sports and recreation hub in the centre of Karaka.

The Karaka Sports Park Trust has been established for the purposes of assisting with the expansion of the Park, the construction of a new Pavillion and generally fostering community use, leisure, sport and recreation in the Karaka district.
